On Wuppertal´s hilltops there are many historical towers that offer spectacular views into the distance. When the weather is good you can even see the Cologne Cathedral from the "Toelleturm", situated on one of Wuppertal’s highest points, in the "Barmer Anlagen" gardens.

But even in the best of physical condition you won't be able to climb the very highest building in Wuppertal: the almost 200-metre-high smokestack of the former thermal power station, which you are passing right now.
